Dennistoun Parishioners Hold Charity Party For EMP

A team of volunteers and generous parishioners from Our Lady of Good Counsel raised £1,400 pounds for EMP in Dennistoun last night.

The charity dinner held in the church hall on Craigpark road, was organised by Pat Reilly and her amazing group of helpers who hold four charity events each year for selected charities. EMP was chosen as last night’s beneficiary.

Pat explained these are popular events and last night’s event no different with tickets selling out in three days, leading to a packed church hall. The night was a big success. The food was fantastic and after a short speech on EMP from Jo, the evening went with a swing, culminating in a nail biting raffle. All the prizes were generously donated. Even after the entry money and the raffle, someone went round with a basket and everyone emptied their pockets. The final sum adding up to that fabulous some of £1400.

It really is amazing how effective these evenings are, but they simply could not happen without hours and hours of selfless work by  the volunteers who then make the evening look effortless.

Jo and Maureen would like to thank everyone who came for their huge generosity and to the organisers for arranging such a great event!
